-FOUR DAYS IN LONDON-

Pour moi, la ville idéale où passer les longs weekends fériés du mois de Mai se situe à 2 heures de train de Paris : et je parle évidemment de Londres.

Après y avoir été trois fois déjà, dont une avec ma mère en tant que guide, cette fois, je suis le guide de mon père :) chacun leur tour pour deux visites de la ville différentes car deux personnalités différentes.

Et avec le daddy, c'est une visite de la ville rock n' roll !

For me, the ideal city to spend the long weekends of May is located 2 hours by train from Paris : and I am talking about London.

After having been there three times already, including one with my mother as a guide, this time I am the guide of my father :) each turn for two different city tours because two different personalities.

And with daddy, it’s a rock 'n' roll city tour !

Quatre jours à courir et en commençant par un repas au Hard Rock Cafe de Piccadilly. À peine arrivée à Londres dans le train de 10h30, direction le Times Square anglais pour un délicieux repas Rock N' Roll.

Évidemment, visite de Piccadilly Circus et balade dans Oxford Street obligatoire. Après un petit tour par Soho, direction The Regent's Park et retour à l'hôtel en passant par Baker Street.

Four days to run and starting with a meal at the Hard Rock Cafe in Piccadilly. Just arrived in London on the 10:30 train, head to the English Times Square for a delicious Rock N' Roll meal.

Obviously, visit of Piccadilly Circus and stroll in Oxford Street obligatory. After a short walk through Soho, head to The Regent’s Park and back to the hotel via Baker Street.

Pour le deuxième jour, direction Buckingham Palace. Cependant, nous ne le savions pas mais nous sommes arrivés pendant les 4 jours de la commémoration de la fin de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale (80 ans cette année) et ce jour en question (lundi 5 mai) était férié !

Résultats : Buckingham était le terrain de grande parade, rempli de monde et fermé au public, de même que Westminster Abbaye et the House of Parliament. La moitié du centre-ville était fermée aux voitures ET aux piétons ! Une vraie galère.

For the second day, head to Buckingham Palace. However, we did not know but we arrived during the 4 days of commemoration of the end of the Second World War (80 years this year) and that day in question (Monday 5th May) was a holiday!

Results : Buckingham was the grand parade ground, crowded and closed to the public, as were Westminster Abbey and the House of Parliament. Half of the city centre was closed to cars AND pedestrians! A real mess.

J'ai tout de même réussi à lui montrer la Westminster Cathedral, le Big Ben et Trafalgar Square avant de faire une pause pour manger à Chinatown.

Pour l'après-midi, direction le quartier le plus fun et rock de la ville : Camden Town !

Petit tour dans les disquaires et le Camden Lock avant de passer la soirée au bar Coyote Ugly, le bar le plus stylé de Londres qui a inspiré le film du même nom.

I still managed to show him the Westminster Cathedral, the Big Ben and Trafalgar Square before taking a break to eat in Chinatown.

For the afternoon, head to the most fun and rock in town: Camden Town !

A tour of the record stores and Camden Lock before spending the evening at Coyote Ugly, the most stylish bar in London that inspired the film of the same name.

L'avant-dernier jour arrive déjà et nous le débutons au sommet de l'Horizon 22 : le plus haut point de vue gratuit d'Europe ! Nous sommes au sommet d'un building du quartier des affaires avec une très belle vue de Londres. Mais attention, même si c'est gratuit, il faut réserver son créneau en ligne car beaucoup de monde se présente :)

Sur la terre ferme, petite balade dans le quartier des affaires en passant dans l'ordre par le Gherkin, Bank, Saint Paul's Cathedral, Millenium Bridge, the Globe's Theatre, the Shard et en finissant au London Bridge.

Dernier effort pour se balader aux Saint Katherine's Docks avant de reprendre le métro jusqu'au quartier de West Ham afin de visiter le lieu de naissance de Iron Maiden, le pub Cart & Horses !

The penultimate day is already coming and we start it at the top of Horizon 22: the highest free viewpoint in Europe! We are at the top of a building in the business district with a beautiful view of London. But be careful, even if it is free, you have to book your online slot because many people show up :)

On the mainland, take a short stroll through the business district passing in order by the Gherkin, Bank, Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Millenium Bridge, the Globe’s Theatre, the Shard and ending at the London Bridge.

Last effort to walk at Saint Katherine’s Docks before taking the subway to West Ham to visit the birthplace of Iron Maiden, the pub Cart & Horses !

Enfin, le dernier jour (et le plus beau en termes de météo) se finit par une balade aux maisons colorées de Notting Hill et au sublime (et géant) parc de Hyde Park.

La matinée est passée vite, direction Saint Pancras pour un retour à Paris :)

Finally, the last day (and the best in terms of weather) ends with a walk to the colorful houses of Notting Hill and the sublime (and giant) park of Hyde Park.

The morning passed quickly, direction Saint Pancras for a return to Paris :)
